John Myers is an Associate Professor of Social Science Education at Florida State University. He completed doctoral studies at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education of the University of Toronto. He is particularly interested in the intersection of photography with civic education, in terms of how images shape our understanding of world events. His current work focuses on supporting students to critically analyze documentary photographs as complex historical texts and on designing instructional practices that foster discussion and visual analysis.
