About me
Nathaniel Underwood is an Assistant Professor of Illustration at UNC Charlotte. He received his BFA from the Columbus College of Art and Design and MFA in Painting from UNC Greensboro. Before teaching at UNC Charlotte, he taught life drawing at the Savannah College of Art and Design and drawing for entertainment design and figurative painting at the Columbus College of Art and Design.
Underwood’s research interests include illustration practices, conceptual development applied to advertising, and retaining creative agency within the age of generative A.I. Nathaniel’s conceptual illustrations are part of many significant campaigns and projects. Nathaniel Underwood works as an illustrator within the advertising industry and provides creative support and leadership for numerous leading agencies. His work as an illustrator has influenced the creative direction of many iconic brands.
